I am only 45 years old and probably still wet behind the ears when it comes to other aspects of business. I will be uploading some information that I have acquired over the years. This information is not written in stone. I am not the best of anything and I suggest that you never trust any business that says they are "THE BEST". I have a humble and serving heart and strive for honesty in all my business agreements with any new clients that decide to give me the opportunity to help them out.
Finding the right media method of advertising can be one huge and complicated maze of confusion. Many entrepreneurs are so discouraged, they use prescription and illicit drugs, alcohol to excess, gamble to the max, and the list can go on. Discouragement is like having a big, fat, and full seagull drop a huge black, green, and white load of poop all over you while you are on your 2nd date. It is unexpected and it hurts. "Just be tough and don't be a whimp!", is the advice I heard years ago. Well, I know for a fact that it is easier said than done.
I can also tell you that many businesses are not properly set up with enough operating capital and cushion money. Many people love to spend money immediately when they make it. I did that too, no big deal, I just failed to plan and so I failed. It is exciting to start a business and equally depressing when the business closes for any reason.
The bottom line here is get a good plan and make sure you have the money somewhere to keep it going for at least 3 years. You must expose and introduce your business to all the people that will use your business on a regular basis. You can't rent a building on the main drag and think that this is the answer. It is a part of the answer. I have spent so much money on "HOW TO" books, storage lockers, useless advertising methods, used equipment for business, and excess overhead, that I have gone bananas in my sleep.
Don't let your bad experiences follow you from business to business. Put your foot down, get help, get moving and get ready to do what you do best! Operate your business like a champion that knows the thrill of victory instead of the agony of defeat. Gee, I hope that's not plaegerism. I know I hate being in the dumps. My Mom use to tell me of the little boy that figured there had to be a little pony under all that horse maneur. Well, under all the BS in big business, there is not always a well informed person that will lead you in the right direction. They just want your money so they can pay their bills and enjoy their life. Get real and take responsibilty by getting sound information from people that have a stake in your success.

Right now, I don't, so I give my life and my time to my clients, business associates, friends, dog, and the Berean Assembly of God in Milford, CT.
